Miva Day Postponed 2024

Postponing a festival is never the headline anyone wants to write. But we had to make a call that put our values before momentum.

The valley was sitting under a heat advisory, one of those stretches where the sun stops being part of the experience and starts becoming the risk. And for a festival built around advocating mental health, balance, and community care, pushing forward under unsafe conditions would have gone against everything we stand for.

When the announcement went out, we said it plainly:

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of our highly anticipated fundraiser, Miva Day, Music Arts & Car Festival… This decision has been made in light of the recent heat advisories and out of utmost concern for the safety and well-being of our attendees.”

There was no other way to say it.
Safety comes first. Always.

We built this festival with the intention of supporting mental health and youth advancement, and part of that responsibility means recognizing when pushing forward would jeopardize the very people we’re hoping to uplift.

We were transparent about refunds, every ticket, every vendor donation, every associated fee. No runaround. No waiting. No exceptions. If we’re asking the community to trust us long-term, we have to operate with that same respect in the short-term.

Looking Forward

The inaugural Miva Day isn’t canceled.
It’s repositioned.

A festival built around community deserves conditions that allow the community to actually enjoy it, comfortably, safely, fully. And while the timing didn’t align this year, the mission hasn’t lost momentum.

If anything, it’s clearer than ever.

This pause doesn’t undo the months of planning, partnership, sponsorship, design, staging, or community involvement. It doesn’t erase the excitement or the growth we experienced leading up to July. It simply gives us time to realign, to ensure that when Miva Day launches, it does so at the standard we promised.

And when it does happen, it will happen the right way.

What Comes Next

We’re continuing conversations with our partners, vendors, sponsors, and collaborators.
We’ll share the new date as soon as the logistics are locked.
And we’ll keep the community updated every step of the way.

Miva Day was designed to be annual.
This moment doesn’t change that.
It just means the first chapter took a different route.

What matters is that when we return, we return ready
with intention, with care, and with the same purpose we started with.
