On May 10th, Miva Collective made its first national TV appearance on Sacremento's FOX40’s Studio40 Live, marking a milestone in our journey toward redefining modern wellness advocacy. Following our participation in the NAMI Walks mental health event in Sacramento, the feature served as both acknowledgment and momentum, a sign that our work is resonating beyond our immediate community.
During the segment, we introduced our growing Music Speaks Volumes live series, a project built on the belief that music can be a healing force and an accessible entry point for wellness conversations. What began as a creative outlet has evolved into a platform centered on community building, storytelling, and mental health support.
We also showcased our merchandise, apparel designed not only for aesthetics, but for intention. Each garment includes hidden positive affirmations sewn into the tags, offering small reminders of grounding and self-worth. These details reflect the earliest roots of the brand: transforming personal challenges into purpose-driven creativity.
One of our favorite moments from the feature came when we discussed the history of our logo, a design that, at first, wasn’t widely embraced. In fact, early reactions from coworkers were far from supportive. But what some saw as “too original” has become a symbol of identity and resilience. It represents our refusal to dilute ourselves and our commitment to embracing the unexpected.
Our conversation also touched on the ways we’re exploring alternative mental health advocacy, through culture, through art, through presence. We believe wellness isn’t limited to clinical spaces; it lives in concerts, fashion, community events, and everyday experiences that invite people to breathe, connect, and feel understood.
And while we shared what we’ve built so far, we also offered a glimpse of the future: our plan to curate a large-scale festival, a community-centered experience inspired by the caliber of Coachella, yet rooted in purpose. A festival where proceeds will support mental health and youth organizations, ensuring that creativity and impact remain intertwined.
Being featured on FOX40 was more than press coverage. It was a testament to the communities who’ve supported us, the individuals who’ve shared their stories, and the mission that continues to guide every step we take.
We’re grateful. We’re energized. And we’re just getting started!
